The big game is coming up, and that means getting together—and that means food!

Whether you’re a football fan, watching the hyped-up commercials, or just love spending time with friends and family, we all agree that no tailgate is complete without some tasty gameday food to share.

But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your healthy goals!

Here are a few ideas for crowd-pleasing gameday foods that are sure to be a win with your team.

The Game Plan

Just like the pros playing today, you have to have a game plan to be successful with your healthy eating habits today.

Take a warm-up lap and check out the buffet or snacks being offered. What do you see? Being mindful of what is offered will help you avoid mindless nibbling.

Big game parties are full of processed snacks and refined sugars and carbohydrates. That means the chips, the sweets, sodas, etc.

What YOU are going to want to go after are all the fruits and veggies you can find, along with higher-protein items that will keep you satisfied, not deprived. Check out that fresh veggie tray, and look for chicken, lean beef, hummus, and other yummy options.

Goooo Buffalo!

Buffalo wings are a gameday staple for a reason: that blend of spicy sauce with cool ranch or blue cheese is almost irresistible!

For a simple swap, try baking your wings at home. Going beyond that, you could swap wings for leaner cuts of chicken, like chicken breast, then slicing them and hitting them with your preferred sauce.

Have you ever tried buffalo cauliflower? Don’t knock it until you try it! The nutty, crunchy texture of cauliflower florets make a perfect bite-sized gameday snack. Check out this recipe here.
